Sybil Ludington - Liberty Kids

Context: In Fredericksburg, New York, James is sent to write a story about an unsung hero of the revolution, Ludington. During his stay with Colonel Ludington and the family, the British come into the nearby town of Danbury and someone must be sent out to get the militia so that they can come together to fight the British. This is the point where the clip begins.

Additional Information: During her ride on April 26th, 1777, Sybil rode her horse 40 miles to warn around 400 militiamen about the British troops. Paul Revere’s ride was less than half of Sybil’s and he was captured by the British. She rode from 9 p.m. to dawn and was not captured during the ride.

Consider this: What are some possible reasons that we do not hear about a young girl who did something just like Paul Revere?
